Heated Walkway
Stone walkways are nice. Heating those walkways is even nicer!
This is a recent stone walkway we did where we put in a heating component, eliminating snow and ice from accumulating on your sidewalk.
Is a heated walkway a luxury or just plain practical?
While the obvious benefit to heating a walkway is that you will NEVER have to shovel it again. Snow melting systems dramatically enhance the safety of your property during the winter season. The automated systems help to eliminate the possibility of personal injuries (and subsequent litigation) due to slipping on dangerous ice and snow. Keep steps, entryways and driveways clear of ice and protect your family or your customers from injuries.
The automated heated systems operate only when necessary. Radiant heated walkways/driveways utilize an aerial or pavement mounted snow sensor that detects temperature and precipitation. When conditions warrant, the activation device (sensor) sends a signal to have power sent to the heat cable to warm the surface. After the storm, the system shuts off automatically. The response time of electric snow melting systems is very rapid, so the surface of your heated pavers is warmed just as the first snow flake falls, preventing any snow accumulation.
When it comes to installing a heated walkway or snow melting system, you have many radiant heat options. We are happy to consult with you and help you determine the system that best suits your snow melting needs as well as your budget.
